03 Carrera tach bounces when engine off??
Hi Everyone
New here but have a bizarre issue on a 03 996 Carrera. The car started running rough while on a drive. scanned codes and had the following codes:
P0342 Phase Sensor 1 Below Limit Value
P0335 RPM Input Circuit No Signal
P0300 Misfire Detection Exceeds Limit Value
P0306 Cyl 6 Misfire
P0304 Cyl 4 Misfire
p0305 Cyl 5 Misfire
P0012 Camshaft Position With Respect to Cranshaft Bank 1 Exceeds Limit Value
The crank sensor and cam sensor has been replaced with no change. Then the car randomly stalled and I got the video attached while ignition was still on but engine off. The tach was bouncing around randomly and I could hear the throttle moving and misc solenoids and relays clicking around the engine.
Obviously there is an electrical issue somewhere just wondering if someone has come across this before? The car has 80k KM and is stock.

^^^ my first thoughts as well, rats chewed on the brown ground wires....happens all the time..the rubber insulation has soy bean and corn starch and tastes so good they can't stop and eat right through the copper...lol

I'll do more looking around but there hasn't been any signs of mice that I have seen. I was hoping this might be a common issue but searching didnt come up with any similar issues.
Cheers

The IMS Bearing was done last year.
But I ran it again this morning and after the cold start and idle came down it ran rough again. Rescanned it and codes P0342 Phase Sensor 1 Below Limit Value and P0012 Camshaft Position With Respect to Cranshaft Bank 1 Exceeds Limit Value came back.
I replaced the cam sensor again on bank 1 and wouldnt you know it the car idles fine for an hour and no codes. The wiring itself looks fine, I wiggled it around near the connector while it was running and so far so good. Maybe just a bad new cam sensor...
I'll let you guys know if that was all it was.
Cheers

3 chain motors with dirty oil will cause the Vane Adjusters for Camshaft to stick and cause P0342. If oil is not new, make it new before doing anything else..
