Default 1999 C2 cranks won’t start

Hello,
I’ve got a 1999 996.
was getting fuel and the motor cranks but won’t start.
I’m trying to find a thread with diagnostics for that condition. There is no CEL and I will check for codes when I get home.

If anyone knows of a thread that speaks to this issue, I’d appreciate it.

Unless it starts, I don't think you're going to see a CEL.
You are definitely on track by starting with a scan.

I’ve had the C1 fuse randomly blow and cause a crank but no start condition. I wasn’t able to scan the car because the DME didn’t have power, might want to check the fuses first.

I have seen the random blowing of the C1 fuse on 996.1 cars a few times. It has always been traced to an intermittent short in the Vario-Cam solenoid.

+1 on starting with checking C1 C2 fuses/all fuses...
