2002 sunroof will not stay closed, retracts as soon as it hits the front edge in the close position. New battery 2 months ago.....

Maybe reset the limits. Press and hold the open button. Continue to hold for 10 seconds after it reaches the limit. Then hit the close button and continue to hold the button for 10 seconds after it reaches the full close position.

R u sure its closing fully? Someyimes mine will stop and then open like a garsge door that hits something. I just hold the button and it will go past the spot and latch.

Thats exactly what is happening, going back to open like a garage door. Any easy fix like a switch or cleaning a sensor?

Mine works correctly most of the time. I assume its sticking in the track and reversing. For me its random and i just hold the button to close it when it happens and chaulk it up to a 20yr old car thing.

I have a policy of never opening the sunroof on an older car which it’s good on.

Joking aside mine is not even opening. Have to address it sooner than later... Will follow your findings in case I learn something.

But once it's operational I'm not touching it 🙂

i have had to push down while hitting the botton to help it get started. I think my issues stem from the po having non sunfroof tool bar in a sunroof car.
