Default New 911 C2 Cabrio - Photos!

Hello Rennlist!

I have posted a couple of times over the past few weeks as I searched for and eventually found my first Porsche, but I wanted to formally introduce myself. I'm in Maryland, west of Baltimore in a small town called Mount Airy. If any other Rennlisters are around I'd love to know about it!

This is my new baby, a 2002 C2 Cabrio, Tiptronic (wife wanted to be able to drive it). I rescued her from a podunk dealer in nowheresville Tennessee. It was listed at a below-market price, and the dealer knew zero about Porsches. When I got the car it was rough, lots of deferred maintenance, the interior was all kinds of beat up, and the exterior looked like it had been run through an automatic car wash every day for 18 years.

I took the car over to Roger at Auto Therapy (a local Porsche specialty indy) and he helped me sort the car out. Here's what's been done so far by the shop:
- 90k Mile Major Service (997 coil packs, new plugs/wires, oil change, air filter, brake bleed/fill). In the course of doing this he discovered a dead mouse in my air filter, which had made a nest while the car sat on the dealer lot. Nice.
- Tip service
- Water pump replacement
- Belt replacement
- Install 997 convertible top hydraulic pump

This is what I've had done to the car elsewhere:
- Full exterior detail including paint correction
- Fill all front bumper license plate holes (there were 4 of them) and respray both front and rear bumpers
- Heavy shampoo of interior carpets

And this is what I've done myself:
- Interior detail
- Remove entire front and rear center console, strip and refinish
- Install ashtray delete
- Relocate HVAC controls
- Replace HVAC LCD screen
- Install Kenwood Excelon double din head unit w/ wireless carplay
- Install garage door opener button
- Replace broken wind deflector
- New OEM floor mats

I have a new custom steering wheel on order from Vivid Racing as well but that will take several months.

Hope you guys enjoy some photos!

That is actually really close, we go to Old Westminster winery sometimes. Seems like a good place to drive the Porsche and take some photos!
