2002 C4 Cab. Dash button has never worked since I bought the car BUT key in drivers door will operate it up and down. Do I have a bad dash switch??

 

Is your handbrake switch working properly?

Edit. Nevermind. I see you have a 2002. I don't think it matters.

 

Yes, handbrake and light working. No codes on OBD port other than a misfire on 3. I cleared the codes and then tried the button again and now it works???

 

Strange but at least it's working.

Dash switch works neither up nor down?
What about if you operate the top half way using the door method, then stop. Now, get in, start it, and see if it will move with the switch in either direction. This could rule out one of the many micro switches in the system.

Alternatively, you could pull off the dash "horseshoe" and try to jumper the switch to see if that works.
