Default Traffic Pro... $455

I picked up the Harmon Cardon Traffic pro (Looks exactly like the Porsche unit without the "PORSCHE" name on it) unit for $450 on ebay last week... Well it came in the mail today. Brand spankin new!!! It took me 20 min to install everything was plug and play. The setup was easy and straightforward. It is a little slow. But it is pretty simple to use. I won't be using this all the time but It was a cheap way to add NAV & keep the stock look. However it will definatley come in handy when I need it. I was very surprised by it's interface. I would highly recommend the unit for those who want to add NAV but you don't want to spend the big bucks!

I posted this info on the 6speedonline.com board and thought I would share the info. I allready have mine but I wanted to share my find. If you want the info on the details to order shoot me a PM and I will send you the info.

Plug and Play? You forgot to mention the most important thing (forgive me in advance if it does not pertain to you). But.......is it plug and play with the 6Disc Changer as well? I considered this unit months ago and could not find the answer. Thanks for being our Forum's test subject

I would be interested to know if you miss not having the screen that displays a map like more traditional systems (that is what has me teetering)???

I posted this info before see below. It is really plug and play I have a becker stock 6 disk changer all of the harnesses are the sameas this unit is basically identicle. I actually like the simple interface. I can imput the information quickly. The directions are well in advance and the unit tells you what is coming up. It has many of the features the higher end color screen units have. I don't really care for aftermarket stereo's I like the stock look of the stereo. This is a perfect solution and fairly inexpensive. The graphic interface on the unit is good too. It has lots of functions that I have been exploring. I would say definatley go for it at this price. A. You can install it in 20-30 min no wire cutting etc. If you are not satisfied put it back on ebay and get your money back. Everyone I know that has a TP loves it.

It was this easy...

-Use provided Keys (I allready had a set) to remove stereo.

-disconnect harnesses multiple harnesses depending on which options you have. Pull stock stereo out.

-remove the plastic cover over the flashing light on the dash place the Nav antenna feed the cable down. Replace plastic cover.

- reach in pull fed cable out.

- Reconnect all harnesses, stereo antenna and antenna cable to Traffic Pro.

-Slide the Traffic pro back in...

-Go through Setup

-Drive around about a mile to calibrate the device

You're done!

That is awesome! I think this may be the one I go for. I am just not in the mood to pay upward of 2K for the Pioneer or Alpine units that have the 6-7in screens and seperate DVD NAV unit (to install in the truck). Not to mention, having to find out what it will cost to install the thing (custom job for the screen I am sure). Oh yeah, and losing the cubby in the lower section

Thanks for the post!

No problem I thought it was a good deal and I wanted to share. I have no financial gain with the seller. He did ship rather quickly though a good ebay experience.

Yeah we were aware of the price the New trafficpro2.com is coming out so companies are liquidating so once these are gone they are gone. $455 is better then $499. This same unit was $1400 a year ago.

Does it improve the sound quality of the AM/FM radio or remote CD player at all?

Will it work in a 99 C2?

Thanks.
