Default Targa top tinting???

Looking at all of the recent tinting post, I went to tint mine on Saturday. I put "legal" 3M tint (full warranty) on the sides and rear glass (no problems). The shop as an automatic computer cutter for most cars, just not for my Targa glass top. I put 20% on the top and they had to do it twice and it is still not 100% smooth. They said that they would only try 1 more time and if I was not happy they would refund that portion.

My two questions are:

1- Has anyone else had a 996 Targa top tinted, how did it go?

2- They also said that they would not warranty the Targa glass top from cracking? I am at a loss here?

They are a good shop, most higher dealerships use them in the area. Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken

Default targa tint

I'm thinking of doing the same on my Artic Silver 2k2 Targa & have the same concerns. I was actually thinking of just doing the rear hatch @ 20% and wonder if that would closely match the existing Factory Tint of the top.

I'm worried about a "PERFECT" fit/finish as well.

Please let me know the outcome.

Default I've got the sun screen

But I wanted to get a darker tint to reduce some of the "brightness" in the car so my Kids can sleep in the back

Actually a slightly darker tint would still allow enough light in while giving me a darker contrast w/ ASilver.

Charnock~ I had my Targa top tinted with Huper Optik 50% tint.. no complaints to date.. I do recall them spending more time with the top since it was tight near the sunshade screen.. they had to use a long makeshift squeegy *spelling* to flatten out the air pockets. Besides that they used a heat gun and meticulously applied the tint...

As for as glass cracking it has'nt been an issue yet... I have Huper tint on the windshield and love it on warm Cali days...
