Gold not found
My car (2000 996 C2) is painted PALADIUM METALIC T1, says so inside the frunk on the little black sticker.
So, naturally I have a few questions seeing as how I don't see this color on the list from 2000.
Did Porsche do custom colors back in 2000?
How screwed am I in regards to touch up paint?
I've found PALLADIUM METALIC C1Y (note spelling difference) this is from 2012 or later cars, but it's a little darker, so no match.
I want to repaint my rear trunk lid eventually, so I need to find someone to be able to match paint, and do it well.
Any help pointers here that will aid me in my search are appreciated.
Be Safe, Greg.

I imagine if you have a paint code, not screwed at all.

Run your VIN thru vinanalytics and double check. If its a paint to sample i think you might be screwed but i hope not.

Did you end up removing the stickers, I remember the last thread but can't recall what you decided.

I did remove the GT3RS from the quarter panels, the lower part is still there, I kinda like it. Updated with a pic in the other thread.

Any good paint shop that serves auto body shops can custom mix touch up paint for you by scanning the current paint on a body panel.

That color was the same. 555 it’s not common at all. Did you get the deck lid?

When you scan paint, it’s normally for ”custom” repaints that the code is unavailable for. It’s a desperate move and you will see the difference in the sunlight. This color didn’t change, it was just uncommon and special order.

Another perspective is that scanning the actual color gets a better match to 20+ year old faded paint.
I've had great luck paint matching this way, but am admittedly more of a driver than a concourse fan.
