Default Cabin Fever getting bad, nice day for ride

Here in Upstate New York the sun finally broke out of the clouds.
While keeping social distancing a ride was really needed.
So went to scout out some Local Trout Streams before we break out the fly rods.
Here are some pictures, maybe it will help get us through any other day.
The last is pretty unique, never on my life would I think there could be such a sign.

I took a couple of short drives during the last few weeks, rationalizing to myself that I was social distancing from others if I drove by myself. My brother last Saturday did the same thing on his motorcycle. On the way back, he fell off his bike, broke some ribs and collar bone. Got taken by an ambulance to a hospital in which he is still staying.

So, the solitary ride turned into close exposure to several teams of medical providers and ambulance drivers. On top of that, he is using much needed medical care that could have been needed for the virus thing with other people. He is now in a hospital likely closer to people with Covid-19 and his chances of getting it is that much higher.

I am not preaching to you guys. It's just that there is another perspective on the solitary drive.

After some disagreements between the state of Ohio health department and our county health department we are allowed to play golf, as long as we stay 10’ apart and do not bunch up at the tee or on the course. So the 996 has become a way for me to get my golf clubs to the course and take a nice walk with friends (not too close). And it lets me run the car a little bit too. About once a week I take it to Costco which is about a 20 mile round trip. Hopefully that is enough to keep it happy until I can put some real miles on it again.

Agreed on the million reasons right now to be careful and not end up in the hospital. Be safe and stay healthy everyone!

I haven't fished NY state yet, it's on the list. Looks like a nice hatch going on in the stream! I can't wait to get to my waters in the PNW for some flyfishing too!
Keep a tight line.

His choice in vehicles was a bad one, was he pushing it a little? I hope he's ok...

He rode over a bad patch of road and the bike went out from under him at about 30 mph. It was not aggressive riding. Just one of those things when you're on a bike.

Even in a car, such as a Porsche, one can easily spin the car, gets rear ended, drives into a ditch, etc... It happens when you drive.

I gave up on bike riding in the mid 80's after a close call...Tourist coming from the opposite direction turned left and stopped in the middle of my lane to look at a map forcing me off the road into the gravel doing 60mph Fishtailing my "Daytona Special for about 200 yards was not fun!

Sorry to hear about your brother but you are 100%. People should stay home unless they need something essential to sustain life, and nothing else. Recreational fishing is not one of them. I've been home for nearly a month and only went out to get groceries.

I'm getting withdrawal symptoms for not driving my car, going to head out around lunch time and take it for a long drive! Twisties here I come!
