I got a case that is broken about like that, I was gonna make one of those glass top coffee tables out of it. I guess I will have to find another base to make my glass top coffee table from . Thanks !!!
Have you got any pics of how you support the lower cylinder of the broken case?

Wow, I really didn´t think that would be possible since the damage is in the lower part of the cylinder! Too bad the shipping cost to US from Sweden probably will be pretty high for such a large and heavy item. The other half of the case also has some damage, although minor, in the same place so that would also have to be fixed. I was thinking of contacting Hartech in UK to see what they say, the shipping and other costs would be much lower.

5 years ago, my IMS failed. Sold the 202 996.2 base Carrera 6 MT roller to Ahsai who rebuilt the engine as a 3.8 over a nearly 1 year period. The thread https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...wn-engine.html, albeit long, currently has 997 posts (which I find amusing as I replaced the 996 with a 997.2).
I'd highly recommend reading the thread if you want to do the rebuild. I also highly recommend Jake Raby Flat6 Innovations for his numerous comments during Ahsai's rebuild.
Beat of luck of your efforts.

Some m-codes are easier to find core engine blocks for at a reasonable price, so it's not always cost effective to repair the blocks, but when you need an M97.21 or M97.01, those cases are hard to get an expensive. Here is what the repair looks like to replace the parent metal on the crankcase side of the cylinder.
