Default MA1.04 engine in a 996 Mk1

Does anyone know if the gearbox in 2000 C4 would mount up to MA1.04 or MA1.04 engine? A MA1.04 is the 3.4 engine standard in a 991. I have opportunity to buy a low mileage MA104 unit. I am aware of other issues involved in a swap of this type.

As you already know, "anything can be adapted to anything", but the simple answer is NO.

They are not the same bolt pattern of even close.

I researched this after finding a PDK trans for ridiculously low price that I wanted to retrofit into a 996.1, but I stopped thinking on it after short investigation of the bolt patterns, would be a momentous project.

Thanks for the reply. I wonder how difficult it would be to make a gearbox adapter?
