Question does anyone have experience with the Ka laser diffuser?

the man who installed my phone suggested it for my turbo. i haven't seen any articles in the magazines.

are they legal?

strict enforcement of speed limits is likely to pick up in maryland with the state budget deficit. the general assembly is debating the issue here today. i'll bet maryland won't be the only state to do do so.

we need every advantage we can get.

imo, stricter enforcement of drunk and careless driving would be much more sensible than writing up drivers for doing 81mph on dry sunny days on superhighways. it's all about the money

I installed the escort srx laser diffuser in my 04 C4S, works like a charm, its legal where radar detectors are legal and it's completely invisible.

Here are some pics.. you can see the laser diffusers in the front grill and rear plate....

riad,

I had the SRX in my M3 which I had pulled out when I sold the car recently and am contemplating putting into my C2. I recall from reading the Escort site that the efficacy of jamming lasers is about 94% if placed optimally. I don't want to rain on your parade, but after I had mine placed behind the lower grill on the M3 a knowledgeable friend who had the same setup in his car mentioned that it wasn't supposed be behind anything to achieve a high degree of success in jamming lasers. I emailed Escort support and they confirmed that it be placed as close to the aim point as possible, and recommended it be unobstructed by any mesh or grill. I think mine and yours looks a lot better with the covert setup, and something is better to nothing when it comes to jamming lasers. Just be careful when you are in a laser prone area, knowing you may get less than the expected 94% jamming success rate of lasers from the front.

My diffusers are completely unobstructed. The grill in the C4S/Turbo doesn't have any mesh or anything in front of it. Did you look at the pictures I posted?

I also have an SRX and love it!
I think it's the best thing available right now.

Rob,

I did look at the pictures, sorry if I am not seeing it right, but it looked like there was plastic in front of the laser diffuser. It reminded me of mine which was behind plastic mesh. My install looked like the one that this guy did in the attached photo, I also brought this photo to the installer to show him when he put it in:

ignacio,
Yeah, laser diffusers help when installed properly, as will a good detector (V1, Escort), but its still not a fail safe. From DC to NY I have heard of the police timing people. Sometimes you see big white lines that cross the road, spaced about 1/4 mile apart. They time how long it takes to get from one to the other. Also heard of NJTA mailing people tickets when they speed on the NJ Tpke and use their EZPass, for the same reason.

Yeah there is nothing in front of the diffusers, there is one on each side of the grill and one on the rear plate. I talked to the install tech about that very subject and we had no problems finding a stop for it in the 996.

This is true, but most of the time i've been pulled over is in my neighborhood... state troopers and local cops. This is where the srx has saved me already numerous times.

I have had success with the bel diffuser, as well. Florida doubled fines last year secondary to budget pressures. Constabulary now serving as revenue agents, not peace officers or community servants.

Drivers are reponding, however. Many more headlight flashes re speed traps and two new CB radio stores opening. Beginning to remind me of the 55 mph era of us vrs them of the 70's.

Quick Reply: does anyone have experience with the Ka laser diffuser?
