thanks, for the link. I've seen that posted on just about every alignment thread in the archives. The problem I'm having is that I don't understand what that means or how it converts to what my car is aligned to. Any explanation or clarification, please?
The degrees are the same. To get the decimal from the minutes on the factory sheet, just divide by 60.
So after wrestling with the A arms, the new suspension is installed and the car has a fresh alignment. I'd like some feedback of the specs. The right front caster is out a few hundredths. I voiced my uneducated concerns to the tech/senior tech (shop owner) about the caster still being in the red. As my car routinely sees speeds over 130mph, a stable, predictable and safe car/alignment, are paramount.
after an explanation of the numbers, I was assured that these numbers are acceptable. The tech said that due to the roads crest, its preferred to have the higher caster on the left front, but the current setting shouldn't affect the car as is. The work is warranted for two weeks, and if I need an adjustment, theres no additional charge.
I was told that the car either has its caster maxed on that side, or there isn't any additional adjustment and that the other option would be to split the difference side to side. Alignment and mount/balance are the only things I take cars to shops for, (outside warranty work), so I'm unsure if this is smoke being blown or not. The shop is reputable and I've used them before when having a car set to a specific spec, with great results. Seeing red has me nervous though.
consensus?
Here are my results from 4 years ago.....was also told by techs not to worry about the caster...not a big deal...4 years later and it has not made any "bad" difference on tire wear or handling.....this set up was done to maximize tire life for a daily driver
Thanks. I've read some threads, but it seems most are detailing coilovers and lowered ride heights or ROW/GT3 specs. I just need good DD specs. I'm not sure what the factory specs are.
You're lucky you don't live in California. Anything over 100mph is considered reckless driving and has the same points as a DUI. I assume you're kidding about daily hitting 130mph but if not, bragging about it on a public forum probably won't help your inevitable court case.

I wasn't really kidding or bragging; just stating the reality of my travels. I dont sustain those type of speeds, but do see them daily. I'm usually cruising around 81-83, but there are a couple long & sweeping on ramps, that merge into long strait aways. At 4:45-5:00am these are very open as far as traffic is concerned. Running 3rd gear up to about 4k, make sure the coast is clear of all things important; roll onto the throttle, shifting gears at 6grand and I'm in "go to jail" territory, before I'm out of 4th gear. 5th into 6th and I'm right at 132mph or so, and only for about a 1/4 mile or so. I figure @$#-it, I've been in jail before and nearly killed when a semi T-boned me in my driver door, last October. I figure "@#!*-it"; jail or death really aren't that bad, just unfortunate & inconvenient.
