LED For Instrument Cluster

LED For Instrument Cluster
Hey friends, For the Carerra (99), I just wondered if there is a legit part # or company that makes a replacement bulb for the instrument cluster that is brighter, probably LED. I don't see threads that say there is anywhere.

Which part # and how many are needed, there is conflicting info whether there are (3) and the wattage's are 1.2, 1.5, and 3W?
Has anyone actually done this, you must have had part #'s?

Can someone who has done this confirm.
As I understood there are two variants here. Earlier 996.1 uses replaceable bulbs for instrument cluster lighting, as opposed to 996.2 which uses LEDs soldered on a PCB.
I believe there are several threads that discuss LED color change on 996.2. I have a spare instrument cluster waiting to get my nerves up to do the LED change.

Following! I'd also like to know how to change out these LEDs.
Noticed also that his eBay shop has closed and that there aren't any direct links to purchase from his site. Anyone know how much this costs?

Anyone ever figure this out? I see tons of gauges updated, but no consensus on info on the actual bulbs used.
that one website that all threads seem to point to (supercarleds.com) appears to be out of business.
If I wanted to update my 986 base cluster bulbs to white LED's (nothing solderable), what kit or types should I be buying?

Yeah, it's disappointing that the two go-to vendors seem to have gone out of business. I would like to keep the amber color to my '99 Carrera's dash, but I would definitely prefer to get LEDs over just getting new bulbs. Given the lack of responses, it sounds like that isn't really viable anymore.

Last night I went onto the superbrightleds.com website . The drop down menus were easy to maneuver and I was able to find LED bulbs for the instrument cluster for my 99 996 . I didn't order any as I am not ready yet but the website sure looks like they are open for business .

Fair warning, I swapped white LEDs into the LCD screen backlights (for a 996.1), during the winter if the car was out overnight in particularly cold temps (below maybe 20-25F) there would be a fair amount of pixel snow on the screens. They were still readable, and it would usually clear up after a few days, but I think the extra heat the regular incandescent bulbs provide helps prevent this problem. These were B8 LEDs, which fit the warning lights and LDC backlights, I had a fair amount of trouble getting the LCD ones to work properly, looking at the bulb that came out the metal contact fins had a bit of a bend in them which helped to contact and seat the bulb on the PCB, the bulbs as ordered did not have any bend in them, so it was several iterations of installing the bulb, put the dash back in, check and see it wasn't lighting, pull everything out and fiddle with it, a huge faff. Some people report that the 3 connectors which plug into the gauge cluster can become brittle, I didn't have that problem, but if I had broken one of those during this process I would have been really unhappy. I installed 5900k cool white LEDs as I was trying to match a different white screen I have in the cluster, but the rest of the car's lighting is themed around the amber glow so it does clash a bit, I'm unsure if the 3900k white would match or if you would need to go all the way to an actual amber bulb.
