Default Rim refinishing

Got quoted $150 per rim to have OEM turbo twists refinished on 03 4s. Said they’d look new. Is this a fair price? Plan on doing it when I switch back to summer tires.

Thanks

Yes. That's competitive. Should include barrels. And no repairs (bent, for example). Ask them if they can check run-out during process.

I paid 175 for mine. Had them refinished, checked for runout and powder coated.

I paid $410 for all 4 plus $50 to refinish the caps. 3 of my 4 wheels were severely scuffed.

The last set I had done by someone else was in 2009 and it was $135.00 per wheel. If you factor in inflation, $150.00 seems very reasonable.
For context, my wheels had the barrels polished and the centers powder coated black. My only beef was that they powder coated the surface that mates to the rotor which is a no-no.

I had my car in the air for other reasons for a short period and used the time to drop my rims with tires off.

They had my wheels for 4 business days to repair and apply a 2 stage powder coat. Dismounting and remounting of tires included.

I don't think mine took more than 4-5 days. I dropped the wheels off along with the new tires.

Nothing personal but there was no way I was leaving my car with these guys for five days. Plus, I'm pretty sure the guy second from left is the son of the parking lot attendant from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Be happy you even got a quote. I contacted every rim repair place in Milwaukee, and not a single one even responded to me. So, I still have some wheel curb rash.

@SoCal911T - I dropped my Twists off at the same place last week to get trued, painted (gunmetal), and cleared. Brian (AKA the Ferris Bueller guy...LOL) has been very cool to work with so far.

I didn't leave my car there either - that part of El Cajon has gotten REALLY sketchy over the past 10 years. I was headed to Gillespie Field a couple of months ago and noticed a lady of arguable repute reclining in the Napa parking lot displaying her wares to passers-by; turns out she was marketing short-term vagina rentals. This was at 7AM on a Sunday...I was impressed by her work ethic.

Pricing hasn't changed much since 2009 (for wheel refinishing - can't opine about the other item) - I'm at $550 out the door. For truing, painting, clearing, and curing, they quoted 5 business days. Price also includes refinishing my existing center caps.
