Hey, welcome and congrats! I absolutely love the 996.1 aerokit cars. That one looks stunning in yellow with the rear wing.

Check the spoiler to see whether it's shimmed or not - you can add 4-degree or 8-degree shims to adjust how much downforce the blade produces. I bought my 8-degree shims from Suncoast...

Beautiful 996!

The car is gorgeous! Congratulations! Welcome to the addiction! You should join Porsche Club of America. Its one of the best thing about owning a P-Car, besides the driving experience.

Thanks for all the compliments! i have the check in hand and going in the morning to pick up the car. I am not sure i will sleep much tonight.

I am actually putting the z3m up for sale. I may post on BAT, need to get all the pics this weekend. I would love to keep them both but honestly i don't have the space for them all. If you know anyone looking for a super clean silver on blue z3m roady 50k miles, registered DINAN car, let me know. I had thought to keep them both but i would rather focus on the new car. I have my mini up for sale as well. I guess which ever one sells first i may keep the other. My e30 will never be sold though...

I love all of the welcome to the madness posts. yes this feels like a whole new road for me.

I will def check out the shims. One thing on the rear wing. I know that the deck lid is fiberglass. However i can see though the upper vents and see the interior of the deck lid. Is there a piece that belongs on top of the 2 openings for the air intake? I think i saw something like that on the GT3 listed on BAT. I was just surprised to see the raw fiberglass interior.

Great looking car! I think Speed yellow may be creeping past Guards Red as my favorite color.

I'd love to see pics of the e9.
I also have the vintage BMW affliction, a e28 M5 and a gray market e30.

Also, I can tell you from personal experience that Speed Yellow adds 20-30 horsepower.

First day impression with the car
picked up and drove home about 30 miles.
Drove a bunch of my friends around intown atlanta.
this thing is ****.

So much power when you really get on it
so much visibility. Inspires confidence, so easy to drive
compared to my 2001 s54 mcoupe, better usable power, better visibility.
a few things i need to get to know and a few things that will need attention (minor)
1. drivers window make a thunk when lowered fully, passenger doesn't. missing bushing in track? minor
2. rear wing is slightly loose, need to tighten, the bolt covers are glued on somehow, need to gently pry loose, minor
3. insulation from hvac vents coming out, on dash and a few larger peices. I had the same issue on my 2001 mcoupe. It annoying as it gets all over the car. No way i am going to remove dash to fix. minor
4. car is too sexy
5. radio stations not coming in clearly on factory radio.. yeah who needs that anyway. will probalby want a bluetooth reciever at somepoint but want something that looks factory. I have kenwoods in all my other vintage stuff but looking for suggestions for single din options
6. car is too sexy
7. blinkers are too quiet
8. need to remove old clear bra from mirrors, will be done tomorrow. I will rear clear later
9. full paint correction will be done late feb
10. eventually i will want to refinish some of the door rocker plastics. the usual coating issues.
11. start up seems sluggish, PO said this is normal. it starts it has a cadences that is not familiar to me. Wasnt sure if battery or jus how these cars are. This is literally the first i have driven\started.
Socal911t
ill post some e9 pics. its not much, just a widebody inka s54 powered resto mod... that i need to finish and sell
i love the welcome and look forward to your advice!
Tony
