Default Help identifying loose tube under engine

Howdy all!

Was changing spark plugs today, and noted a braided steel tube that was loose in the vicinity of the driver’s side rear of the engine bay when viewed from bellow. I’ve attached a photo of this tube, and the thing it connects to up under the fender. Any idea what this is, and where I should reconnect the tube?

Thank you!

What's the other end attached to?
That's not a stock line that I've ever seen.

My car is not so equipped but it looks like the hose for the sport muffler vacuum switch.

Your car must have PSE. It it is a vacuum hose. Goes to the vacuum solenoid of the PSE down near the muffler.

I do have a PSE, and it is indeed connected on one end to the vacuum solenoid like in your picture! Where is the other end supposed to connect? The PSE was installed at a Porsche dealer a few years after purchase, so that could have somethig to do with it... with it loose like this, is the sport exhaust always active or always in quiet mode?

thanks for yalls quick diagnostic!

Not to nitpick, but that's not a solenoid.
I referred to it as a vacuum 'switch' when vacuum 'actuator' would probably be more correct.

Porsche calls them "change over valves", but I think solenoid or vacuum actuator is more descriptive, (but Porsche also calls a horn a "fanfair" also...lol

It’s hard to get a good pic, but you should have a vacuum canister and an electrical solenoid valve with black plastic tubes attached to it. The tubes connects to the each braided hose going to the valves at each muffler. The red rows point to each end of one of these black tubes.

Always in sport mode. If u haven't searched PSE hack, do it. It will show u how to clip a diode in relay and still preserve your valve control.
