Default Air in coolant question

I recently did water pump and did the whole bleeding process. I blew out the majority of coolant +5 gallons. Bled system and went well. I then did the coolant tank but just emptied using the drain on the motor. Anyhow, I ran through the process adding coolant while at 2.5k then the 5k blips. Add a little more. I then open relief valve and drove around getting the car up to 5-6k at operating temp. I had a little coolant come out the overflow but very little.
I guess my first question is would the way I took the coolant out the 2nd time not create air pockets? Coolant has stayed at full.
2nd, With the coolant in the system, can a mechanic bleed the system somehow with the coolant I have. I still have 2 spare gallons I bought.
Thanks.

i just completed mine yesterday, including adding an LN low temp stat. A local fellow Renlister loaned me his AirVac Coolant Refill system, and it did the trick. This pulls a vacuum on your coolant system, then draws in coolant to fill all the air pockets.

As for your current issue, I’m not 100%, but perhaps turn your heater on while driving. I’m not sure what the higher rpms will do, but others with more experience may chime in.

you can also drive with your relief valve clip in the ‘up’ position for a few days, and see what that does.

I've had my coolant flushed in the last year and what they do is push all the coolant out by putting compressed air on the system. That forces all the coolant out of the front of the car (e.g. heater core). Then, once the system was cleansed of all old coolant, they used an airlift system to suck the air out and the vacuum pulls the coolant into the car's coolant system.

That being said, I'm not sure if there is any reason to pay a mechanic to bleed the system now that you've filled it. You should just leave the relief value open until you've feel like the system has "burped" itself.

Are you getting irregular temperature readings? Running too hot? If so, then you may need to get a specialist to look at it.

Are you saying you have 2 gallons left and only put in the car 3 gallons while 5 gallons came out before? If so, it is very low. In any case, drive the car with the bleeder valve open, once it gets hot, the air comes to the top, the fluid goes to the bottom and the low coolant light will come on. Pull over, fill up the coolant tank, and repeat until you use up the 2G of coolant. After a day or two, it will be all full.

This is why I bought an Airlift.

I have close to 5 gallons in the system. No erratic temp swings. Goes to operating temp (same as before) and holds steady. No issues. I guess I’ll just put valve up and drive around some more and keep and eye on it.
Will the temp gauge and coolant level tell me if there is an issue?

if you have 5 gallons in it, I doubt you will have any more issues.
