Knowledge Gruppe M9X Engine Assemby Series

Holy cow...Unneeded? Who is to judge what's needed? I was raised that food, shelter, and clothing were the only "needs" for a person and that everything else is a want. Amazing that someone with luxury items such as a Porsche and possibly a helicopter passes judgement on what someone's needs are. We all have wants. I recently purchased a very sweet 911 with one of Mr. Raby's engines because I wanted it badly. BTW, its a screamer with massive torque. Same with my nice house in Atlanta and private school for my girls, and my vacations around the world. I have lots of wants!! I bust my butt for my wants. You come off sounding like one of those wealthy politicians that thinks he knows what's best for the regular folk. The person I bought my car off of knows Mr. Raby a fair amount and he told me that Mr. Raby (may I call you Jake?) came from nothing up in the Georgia mountains to where he is today, after serving our country in the Marine Corps. Where he is today is holding status as a very successful, self-made businessman by being one of the world's best Porsche M9X engine builders. Why would he feel guilt achieving the American dream? I sure as hell don't. We should be thankful he takes the time to chime in to this forum. Jake, I hope you make as much money as you can and continue to keep this awesome economy going by spending some of the money we spend with you. Also, thank you for the free advice that you do often provide BTW.

Pelican was bought out by ECS, which was acquired by a private equity firm. It is no longer the same business it once was. The story is well documented in other locations. A lot of parts businesses are being bought out by this same firm for their profits. In many cases they have removed knowledgable staff to maximize profits too. Select your vendors wisely too.

I tried "pre-ordering" with Pelican on Nov 8, by website and by calling, with no luck.
I then ordered online with LN Engineering, along with a some other goodies . Thanks LN for processing the order and promptly answering the questions I had. Great service!

This is true and sometimes you can't please anybody. So do what you do and there will be those who understand and appreciate what you do. For those who do not...who cares...that is their problem not yours.

That's just cool, Jake. She is a very sharp kid and was very fun to chat with when I took the Engine Class! I hope my nieces are as willing to learn stuff when they get a bit older!

She's at my side here at the shop right now.. Getting ready to build her "Blockzilla" alcohol burning engine... It makes 8X the factory power, but we think it has more in it..

I was astounded the 1st time I heard of Jake Raby in 2008 when he was posting all his new found knowledge about M96 engines & how to improve them.

Its time to move on into the 9a1 with classes, and my step by step, 15 hour engine rebuild video can fill the role of the M9X class very well.
It's a little bittersweet, but I am ready to take a break, and then roll out a 9A1 class in 2021.

It's hard for me to work that way, because I prefer detail. me and speed used in the same sentence when it comes to engine work don't get along. My 8 year old daughter disassembled an M96 and I only needed to help her with pupping apart the case halves, and removing the carrier from the engine. It's that simple to disassemble. ALL the time should be spent creating your own resource materials, using pictures and videos as you go, as well as "bagging and tagging" every fastener. It's the same with anything. Once I taught Ava these disciplines, she has used them with her first Go kart engines, her Jr. Dragster engine, her first 914 engine build, and the M96
I'd prefer the DVD series.. Plus it comes in a really cool case with a picture of an ******* on the cover :-)
