Hmm, I had kind of assumed it wouldn't be an issue with this lip spoiler. I imagined it would be flexible. But now that you mention it, I don't really know. In the photos, it looks like the part that sticks down might be rubber - or might not. At least it sits fairly far back, which helps.

Anyone know whether it is flexible?

Yeah, I'm sure it has some effect. Porsche does say it enhances the aerodynamics, and I'm inclined to trust them. The problem is that this can mean many things. It seems quite likely it reduces lift. Otherwise you wouldn't need the lip spoiler with the wing. But I'd really like to know the effect on drag.

More info here.

Part #996.505.986.00 is usually referenced as the correct lip and looks like this.

What makes it even more confusing, is that the 996.1 Aerokit bumper that supposedly doesn't need a lip, is pre-drilled to take the above lip (996.505.986.00).

I have 996.505.986.00 on my factory XAA car. The front bumper came with the pre drilled holes you show above. I bought it years ago for approx. 140 bucks. It is now 500-600 bucks, which is crazy. I have asked Demon Speed to make them, but they haven't yet. I could run a 996.2 splitter, but they are wider and require drilling more holes.
Spoiler Lip 996.1 GT3 MK1 1999-01 - Also Fits Aero Kit Bumpers (fvd.net)

Here it is on my car, but its black, so hard to see. It has some nicks and things from hitting stuff as its pretty low to the ground.

Easier to see on these cars.

The cup front splitter/spoiler was flexible from the factory and was a little larger. Don't know if they still make it. You can give demon a call and ask them questions on all of them. You have many options.

I bought mine from Sunset in October of '17 and it was $118.23. Looking at their site today, it's $486.41 (and $598.75 at Pelican). Yes, crazy!

Here you go. A couple of pictures of the Demon GT3 front spoiler. It's thin and light. It will break if you crunch it. Designed to replace quickly and easily. It is already drilled. All you have to do is drill the bottom of your bumper and attach. I haven't put it on yet, but eventually will in the next month or two. What I like is that it's only $200 versus a new bumper and paint for ~$2k for the aero 2 bumper. If I don't like it, I'll take it off.
