Default Wet drivers door carpet

We had a wet Sunday on the east coast and I noticed that the carpet on the drivers side door was wet. Just the bottom half inch and just on the drivers side. I pulled some of the plastic plugs on the underside of the door and there was no build up of water. The door frame was a little wet around the Carrera lettering but not much. I was in and out of the car to mess with a car seat so the interior was a little exposed for brief periods.
The interior carpet was not wet, other than a little surface moisture from my shoes in some spots. After researching many helpful posts on drains I did clear the ones under windshield but did not tackle the sunroof drains yet. There was not build up of water anywhere around a drain or anywhere else that I could find and it was a pretty good long rain. The headliner was dry as well, if that matters.

any ideas about what I should do/clear/replace?

Finally got that car seat secure at least.

thank you in advance.

Default Here is a picture

You can see a dark line of moisture at the bottom. Any advice is appreciated.

I covered the door light for a better contrast.

Window seal at the top of the door? When I replaced my regulator a couple weeks ago until I made some slight adjustments there was about credit cards thickness gap between the glass and and the seal when the window was up. I had poured a small amount of water on the window and watched it drain into the door. Just a thought.

Has your door panel ever been off? There is a foam like membrane behind the door panel that is supposed to prevent just that...even if water runs between the glass and window seals. There are small openings in the bottom of the door behind the membrane to drain water. I would definitely check behind the door card.

Will check that as well. Is your 996 Palladio as well?

Yes! Indeed it is, and I love the color changes with various lighting.

Default Thanks for your help guys

I tried pouring some water over and locates and checked that drain. Very helpful. I could not find water coming in during the pour test or a clogged drain. Will just have to pay more attention to it. Luckily it does not seem to be getting anywhere else.
