Aren't they the same width? C4S is wider but afaik there's no difference between normal 2 and 4.

I don’t think my 2001 c4 is wider than the 2003 c2 convertible my wife has. I think the C4S is as wide as the turbo 996 I have.

The C4 definitely looks wider. Interesting to know it's not.

So what's actually wider? Are they the same chassis but the 4/4S has just wider rear fenders/body? Are the wheels spaced out wider and actually provide a wider stance? I know the C4S runs a different offset in the rear and has a wider rim. My question is, were the rear fenders widened to accommodate this or was there more work done to the chassis. Working on a C4S before, the engine bay seemed as tight as a C2.

According to this video the Turbo is wider. I linked it right where he discusses it. And yes, I'm researching my next project.

Yes - 60mm wider than narrow body. I'm still curious around the how. What was done to make it wider.

Remember the GT3 is based on the C4 chassis, and is considered a narrow body 911. Only the GT2, Turbo and C4S are wide body variants.

The how is the wider rear fenders for the inter-coolers.

Its just the rear fender skins. The cabin and engine bay measurements r the same inside the structural unibody rails. The area under the rail is bigger to allow for the intercoolers.

The c2 and c4 r the same other then the frunk area to allow fir the awd. The frunk area is identical for the c4, c4s and turbo. I have basically swapped a gt3 into a c2...gt3 shares the c4 chassis. Therfore they r the same.

There r also sheet metal differences around the engine lid for the c4s and turbo too, but the c4 is still the same as the c2 in that area.

I always think of the C4S as “turbo look.”
