If that were the case, the lap times would tell the story...and they don't. In pretty much every evenly matched timed course, the 4S beats the 2S.
Whether you prefer the driving experience of the 2S over the 4S is certainly worthy of discussion but as for "go", as you put it, the 4S has it.

Easy tigers. Same engine, heavier car. It is basically a cosmetic package. I would love one, for aesthetics. They're really nice to look at. But they are nothing special, if you want the go to accompany the show, buy a turbo.

I actually prefer the look of the flat-side, to each their own...It's a big tent with lots of room!

I’ll give you straight line speed advantage, but I’ll take curves at speeds that might leave a c2 off the road.
Facts, such as recorded track records, are not subject to opinions.

IMO the engine is not all that matters. Yes, I like the look better (purely opinion) but there is also a difference of upgraded suspension, brakes, tire width, and AWD, which I think is a pretty substantial benefit. It's certainly an opinion of whether you think the premium is worth the features but it isn't "basically a cosmetic package".

Oh boy... it’s cool, you both win.
In all fairness the better brakes, suspension and wider track coupled with awd more than compensates for the added weight, but it’s marginally better - not heaps. But it’s definitely a nicer car and why they cost more out of the gate.
Different strokes at the end of the day, I enjoy the c2 for what it is.... they are both great cars.
