Default Cabin Air Filter Latch

Thinking there was a cover for the tray the cabin air filter sat in due to the latch my search found the how to on renntech. Looking at the photo on renntech the latch just abutts up against the filter. I assume I have a piece missing on the tray for the latch to use to accomplish this as I can’t figure out how to secure it unless I am not operating it correctly. The photo below is of my tray. Any assistance is appreciated.

No cover, the cabin filter seats in the tray. Don't buy a cheap paper filter, get the OE activated charcoal filter. It has a plastic frame and seats in the tray very nicely.
Parts (including tray) can be seen here: http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=813-20

Thanks for the response and link. From the pic of the tray in the diagram it looks like I am missing a lip for the latch to catch on and secure itself against the filter. Not looking to replace the tray at over $90. Will figure it out.

I have a Mann charcoal filter due in. The cost of the Porsche filter is crazy!

So using a paper clip a formed it to something the latch could secure to. This is to get the concept of how it works and plan to come up with a permanent fix.

LOL, I actually have some black plastidip. I guess I could see how well it stands up to normal use and consider the suggestion thanks.
