Headlight and Directional Bulb Mystery

Headlight and Directional Bulb Mystery
My headlight went out recently, and I replaced it with an H7 bulb. The bulb below it is also an H7, so I replaced that one too. As soon as I drove the car, the directional was blinking really fast and I noticed my turn signal was no longer working. I replaced the turn signal bulb and that didn't solve the issue. Upon further investigation, I noticed that the headlamp enclosure has H7 marked near both Hi/Lo beam headlight sockets. But on the bottom socket, there's a black stamp that looks to show "H5" or "H6"...I can't quite make it out. These are completely different bulbs, from what I understand. I'm wondering if I shorted it out by using an H7. Has anyone run into this type of issue before? I've never tested electronic equipment before with a voltage meter, so I'm unfamiliar with that process. Any suggestions?
Thanks guys!
