GT3 brake ducts cutout for steering?
Looking at replacing 996 ducts with the gt3 version.
The stock (lower in pic) version has a round cutout at the top for steering arm travel. GT3 doesn't.
Is that cutout not needed, as I don't see anyone talking about the cutout?
Surely don't want anything hitting the steering arm, even if rarely with plastic.

I dove in to swapped them out.
Before & after photos:
Steering rack tie rod is directly above notch on full wheel lock. GT3 ducts leave about 1/2" gap. Maybe rod comes close on full compression, full lock turn.

I had no issues w Ducting fitting. Cold plastic can be tough to manipulate
Cheap bump in braking cooling for low price.
Used them on my Boxster S also.

I haven’t had issues with original carerra, GT3 or Cup ducts hitting the suspension, even on x74 ride height w/ GT3 lower control arms. However, I have had issues with the Cup ducts hitting the road on occasion, since they are so deep and the ride height is so low, so I went back to the smaller ducts.
