Engine/fuel issue.
I have owned my 03 C4S going on 8 years and appreciate this car more and more. As a kid I was fortunate enough to have a father that had a passion for cars....some of which were (to name a few) a Jag XKE convert & coupe, Maserati Bora & Khamsin, Lotus Esprit, then came the Porsches (83 911 SC, 86 Carrera, 81 928, 88 911 turbo look Targa (my favorite) which is why I am a die hard fan and wouldn't buy any other sports car. He always said the Porsches are all around best for reliability and practicality.
I never bought into the bad rep that the 996 has. it is by far a better car than the air cooled 911's. I get the nostalgia and the only true 911 are pre water. But I put thousands of miles on those cars and in my humble opinion the 996 is exceptional in every way. I still love those 911's but the cost now to purchase them is absurd hence the 996 is such a deal.
That being said (sorry for the long intro) my 996 has an issue which I can't figure out nor my indy....partly because it happens so infrequently, when he drives it it of course it doesn't miss behaves. Sometimes when I'm driving I can put the pedal to the boards and the the engine doesn't perform it doesn't react, rpms climb very slowly and the car barely accelerates. This could last up to a minute or so then the next minute perfectly normal like nothing happened. I'm embarrassed to say this has been going on for the Last 7 years.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to Rennlist! Have you scanned the car for any error codes on the engine and ABS/PSM modules? Is it a stick shift or a tiptronic?
It would be good to attach a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail somehow (or a fuel pressure sensor) so you can monitor the fuel pressure in real-time while you drive. Then you can see if it's a fuel issue when the hiccup occurs. What you described sounds quite serious because you said the engine doesn't respond despite you flooring the gas.

Hey Ahsai, thanks or the help. My mech ran the computer for codes but nothing came up. And yes It is a manual. If you ever driven something with a governor it's feels like that it goes but its restricted like. Maybe a better way to describe it would be running on 3 cylinders.
