Default Wheel support pins/studs

Coming up on the time for me to put my warm weather tire set back on. I want to get the guide pins that screw into the hub and help support/guide it into place. Always concerned about chipping one of my rotors. Anyone know what they’re called and where to buy them? Is one per rim sufficient or do you use two?
thanks

You can buy the equivalent item on ebay or from european parts suppliers inexpensively. You should have one in your factory toolkit though. You only need one unless you have PCCB, and you don’t have to worry about your aluminum rim chipping your (steel) rotor (unless of course you have the rare carbon ceramic rotors).

They are called wheel-hangers. One will work, two would work better.

Thanks guys I never thought to check my tool kit. If not there I’ll search Ebay as suggested. I do have PCCB so I would feel better with two in place. The last few years I’ve been pushing a towel through the rim to cover the top of the rotor.

Cant imagine changing tires on Porsches without these hangers.

You were correct. They are in my tool kit. Actually three. I guess the factory intended a triangular support.

When I first got my car I didn't know about the wheel hangers and it was a pain in the butt changing wheels. I don't remember how I discovered the correct way but it made it 10 times easier.

I can see how they would help, but I've never had an issue getting my wheels on and they've been off and on many times.

Rear wheels especially are much easier to mount with these.
