Default Remove diff, keep tranny in car or not?

Hi

i suspect there is some issues with my diff, maybe a tooth is clipped or something.

Has anyone removed it with the transmission in the car? Doesnt seem to bad??

pelican has a some nice pictures.

(I don't have a lift so will be on jacks)

I assume you're talking about the front diff (either a turbo or C4?). Yes you can remove it with the tranny in the car, and it isn't too difficult. Make sure you have the car jacked up safely and high enough to work under it.

sorry should be more clear. Talking about rear diff on a 1999 c2 6spd manual.

We took out my stock c2 diff and put in a limited slip with the tranny in the car . Need a hoist though or a good quickjack lift .

Because you need to get it up higher than normal jack stands. It's not really a lying on your back job
