I'm looking for some advice: The instrument light turns on intermittently and then turns off after some time. Very annoying. I did some research and it seems others have successfully fixed the "instrument light problem" replacing the ignition switch. I've also read that Porsche did fix the ignition switch in the 2004 model. 2004 is what I have so I'm not sure if that is the right next step.

So I'm not sure if it is worthwhile trying to replace the ignition switch. I did check the fuses, the battery is new, the backup and license plate lights are working.

I did install a new radio so maybe is that there is some glitch somewhere (I tapped the ignition 12V +)?

Any advice on how to troubleshoot this?

Could be coincidental to the radio install but also might not be.

Have you considered the headlight switch? Maybe take it out and clean it with some spray contact cleaner - see how you go
