well it was kinda like "the shiny object" deception, but I'm sure having done similar on my SL500 it was < $1K for parts , but loads of fun;(

The po slide off the track and cracked the motor.i guess technically it was about a $210 repair. I rented a good tig welder,$150, and had a machinist friend stop by to weld it and $60 for a new cover off ebay. Ther was nothing else wrong with the motor. My local indy said that type of repair was common for him back in the day due to the low motor.

Me too.
Not being a Cab owner, I was thinking he was talking a top end rebuild. (as in aircooled engine)
But certainly not for that price.
Glad someone explained it to me.
