Default 2004 Turbo Cab

i have a 2004 turbo cab. The top will not open or close when the car is stoped. It works fine when moving forward or in reverse but as soon as the car stops the roof stops. Any ideas

I've owned many, many convertibles but this problem you describe is very odd behavior. I would think a re-calibration would be in order. Normally, the car's sensors work in reverse of what you're describing. That is, if the car is moving too fast then the top will not be allowed to open or close. Very strange. Have you tried the key in the door technique? You put the key and turn it and hold for a few seconds. The windows should drop and the top begins the open sequence. Try it!

Maybe it needs the parking brake engaged when stopped?

Default Good ideas

I forgot the car could be operated by the key I will try that. No park break needed.

I'd check for a short or issue with the parking break microswitch. That's odd behavior.

Default I do not think the park break needs to be set

I do not think the park brake needs to be set. I can operate it in motion.

On my 02 C4 Cab, it needed to be in park and e-brake engaged for the top to work. That's why I asked if you had a "Smart Top" unit.

I do not have a smart top unit. On your 02 C4 can you operate the top in motion?

Agree. Looks like it started @ 2003? https://www.renntech.org/forums/topi...top-operation/
Sorry, looks like my input was just "noise". Good luck.
