How are they secured to the floor, if at all?

Yeah, I see those and have them in my car, but I figured those probably grip carpet mats better. Doesn't seem like they'd have a positive lock on a rubber mat. Would like to see the bottom of the rubber mat to see how it engages. Audi/VW has much better system where they positively snap to buttons in the floor. Can't slide or be mis-located.

There are matching velcro tabs on the mats. I ordered the Lloyd rubber mats but they also do not fit the passenger side well since I have the bose system. The subwoofer intrudes into the passenger compartment and the mat is rolled up against it. I was going to try removing the sub and then putting it over the mats but there really is no clearance. I like the look of these better though!

The bottom line is that Porsche is starting to take care about the 996 and those are really good news

Hopefully this isn't just for the NA market and they make them for RHD cars...

Indeed .. There are more and more 996 parts coming out and glad to see interior color specific ones as well. I have ordered a set of these rubber mats and will post some pics when they arrive early next week , from what I know they use the same rounds Velcro fasteners as the existing mats that come in different colors .

Yea, I was in Atlanta visiting and stopped in Porsche of Atlanta. Surprisingly, they were very positive about the 996 and explained that each dealership would have a least one "classic service tech" specially trained to work on the 996. I about spewed my coffee! I turned my head and said, "Wait, you're talking about giving us (the red-headed step child of the 911 family) special attention?" He's like "yes, sir!" This is not like "special ed classes or something?", I inserted. "No sir, Porsche is dedicated to supporting 996 owners", he replied.

What does this really mean folks???

Those are pretty cool with the 996's outline.
These would be better for those slushy days though...https://www.weathertech.com/porsche/...bose-sound/no/

LOL

Actually, Porsche has included the 996 in the "Porsche Classic Program" since beginning this year as it became 20 years old

Has anyone actually ordered and received these yet? I just spoke with Suncoast and was told that these are in Germany only right now, but that their allotment is due to ship to them next week.

In case you are interested in ordering a set in advance, search on the following part number: SKU9X6RUBBER. As I remember, about $85.00 and shipping UPS to me was another $15. So I added a few additional items and the shipping did not change.
