Follow up advice question. Just got sideswiped as well. I was wondering if it would be better to sell the car as is to someone who can do body work and use the insurance money to buy another car. The car has 128,000 miles on it and runs beautifully. Opinions?

Take the money and buy one with fewer miles.

What about the rest of the car? Engine, trans, clutch, brakes, susp, int, glass all good? Do you like the car? Want to keep it? Will it be a total by ins or repaired? Way too many variables to give an opinion on this one.

2002 C2 stick. Everything works, likely because I have replaced it. IMS at 96,000, new clutch, new A/C compressor, new mounts, new fuel sender and pump, new window regulators, brakes, power steering, etc. etc. First Porsche that I have owned that does not leak oil on my garage floor. Insurance pays for all but $1,000. Have not got the repair estimate yet, but guessing 5 to $6,000. Car was running better than ever a week ago.
