Default Need help identifying wire/connector

I was installing a double DIN radio in my 996 this weekend and had to relocate the AC controls to the bottom of the console. When I pulled apart the bottom console apart I noticed this black 4-wire connector (circled in red), just laying on top of the airbag module. It wasn't connected to anything and I don't see any other connector that it could have mated with. Just curious if anyone knows that this is for and where the wires go. Thanks.

Probably a phone hookup.
There is one in that area that is normally disconnected.

Yep, it's the phone connector. It has switched +12v and ground that you can tap off of.

Thanks everyone, you are correct. I found this thread if it is helpful for anyone on this connector.

I am surprised that Porsche doesn't put a cap on it of some sort considering that it has constant 12V and switched 12V power on it.
