I'm searching for a good used one. Found one in Cali but the guy never got back to me when I tried to pay.

I might have one in a month or so, but I don't know about shipping to a foreign country.

I’ll put you at the top of the list, I’ll make you an awesome deal.
But if you find one sooner, I‘ll understand!
I checked earlier, I’m about 1100 miles away from an oil change.
So only about 1 month from now.
I‘ll be ordering the 2qt deep sump next week, along with the LN skid plate.

What size is that/where can I get one?
Yep,no mess. I cut it just below the barbed section and press fit it into the oil drain hole, Home Depot, or most plumbing supply shops should carry them for a couple of dollars. Sorry I don't remember if it is 1 1/2" or 1 1/4", a quick measure of the hole would confirm.

TexSquirrel, If 808Bill is not entrusted I may be. I have not been in the market for one but after reading this thread it sounds like a good idea to install one.
Thanks from another Tex

Ok, if he doesn’t want it I‘ll let you know.
I hope to order everything this coming week or the next.
That way I‘ll have it ready for my next oil change at the end of October or early November

He wants and needs one...To many potholes here!
I should get a couple of spare wheels too at some point.

I received my LN Engineering deep sump skid plate today to replace the one that I currently own.
If you’re thinking about buying a $300 skid plate for your 996...WAIT.
I‘ll do a full review and comparison with pictures this Friday.

Super interested. My 996 is lower than stock. I haven't hit anything with the oil pan yet, but I drive in NJ.

Stock height mine has bottomed out driving into parking lots.
I have the scratches to prove it.

My car is lowered, but I had low tire pressure in my rear tire when I bought my car. With some spirited driving on the back roads, I went to my friend's shop and noticed that I scraped up my oil pan. I bought a skid plate after that.

Thanks guys, I just realized that I have been a 4x4 truck owner for too long and never worry about these problems. Now you have opened my eyes yet again. I'll be purchasing one soon: Cheap insurance for my lack of thinking always pays off.
