Default Largest Wheels Size for 996 C4S

Brothers, I wanted to get an understanding of the Largest Wheel size available to mount on my C4S, (I do not want to negatively impact handling) I currently have 18 x 8 & 18x11 with 295.30.18 Rear & Front 225.35.18 - I was thinking of going to 19 or 20" wheels as such - 19x8.5 Front - 19x11/12 Rear - for the Rubber I was thinking 305.30.19/20 rear - the reason why I am asking. I bought a set of 997S wheels from someone on another forum which were 19" the fronts were 8.5 and rears 19x11.5; but the Rear Tire was a ballon 325.30.19 which wouldn't fit even with 15"mm H&R Spacers. I wouldn't normally attempt a 325, it is simply too wide. Any information you guys can provide is greatly appreciated.

Subscribed. Interested in this as well although I think 11.5 might be too wide?

I am running on a set of Champion Motorsport Wheels with the following setup:
Front: 235/35 R19 on 19x8
Rear: 295/30 R19 on 19x11
No spacers and the car runs ok.

ps: nice color your C4S

These are 19x11 with 10mm spacers to keep from rubbing inner liner. Anything taller tire wise or wider rim wise would have been close to needing fender roll.

Probably not as relevant as others commenting given I made wide body flares for mine but I have 315/35/19's in the rear on my 1999. I can go as wide as 325's back there which I probably will when these tires on there are done... do a wide body, you'll love it lol

I should start offering to do my kit for other ...

I have 19"s from a 997 on mine. They were fine without spacers, but the offsets didn't match factory spec for the 996, so I added 8mm spacers from ECS for all 4 wheels and I believe I'm within 1mm now. In addition to width, you need to consider tire circumference. Once you go to 19" the tire selection drops and it gets harder to get things matched up.

I think the 997 Lobsters come in two different fitments (narrow and wide body)? I assume you have the wide body versions? Do you know what offsets those were? I have an 03 C4S and looking at 19s as well.

You're right. They made them for the boxster/cayman as well as the C4S. The C4S versions (that I have) are

front: 8Jx19H2 ET 57
rear: 11Jx19 ET 51

Here's a link to a thread I made a while back about offsets and matching up to factory.

Good info in that thread. Are you lowered or stock ride height, don't recall seeing that.

I didnt see this post.

Those wheels are Champion Motorsport wheels. I don't know the number or the name of the model. I have asked them and they answered that they are a "3 piece design based of the RG19, produced until 2003 or 2004". In some internet forums, some people call them also like the old RG5 3 pieces. I am not sure

Actually, I like them a lot because they are from the time of the car. I mean, a set that could be purchased on the time that the car was produced.
