Default Manual transmission oil drain plug washer. Is there one?

Unscrewed both the drain and fill plug today but noticed no gasket or crush washer. Is there supposed to be one? I could not find any parts numbers at Pelican or elsewhere. I also read that one could use the oil drain plug washer?

The drain plug was a 10mm hex btw.

Not sure if it's year dependent but there are no washers on both my '02 and '03.

Pelican lists a washer but I did not order one. Just used the same fill and drain plugs and tightened until they won't tighten anymore. No leaks.

When I did front diff and tranny there was a washer. May have been put there by previous mechanic. Seems like it took one similar to oil drain plug.

I guess tightening it to proper torque (20 ft-lb.) would be the right thing to do. Over torquing the plug could induce stresses in the casing that could cause damage later on. Also, plug seemed like a harder material, so the internal threads of the casing could start yielding if you go over the limit.
