OK here's my story, I just picked up my car today from the body shop where a new front bumper cover and a Duck tail were fitted. The original 3rd brake light was eliminated and replaced by an LED one on the tail.
I start it up and immediately the ABS/PSM lights come on and the dash tells me "Danger Will Robinson drive straight to the repair shop" All quite frightening, I call my mechanic and he says get the codes read and of course it is not showing any codes (at least on a standard OBD2 reader) I mentioned that this forum indicated it could have something to do with the brake light and change over to LED but he said the ABS looks for input from the brake light switch but he doesn't think it monitors the lights themselves? It just seems like a strange coincidence that it fails at the same time I do these modifications.
Any suggestions before I take it into the shop?
My understanding is that the LED brake light is the problem. You probably need a resistor installed between the positive and negative lead on the 3rd brake light. Memory says 6 OHM/50W resistor, but that may be for going to full LED's on the tail end.
