Finally got me a taco!

I don’t see how the side skirts are irreversable. Can you say a little more? From what I can see on my 2002, they seem like something easily added or removed.

Question is, will you go MK1 or MK2 side skirts if you decide to get a pair??

Front and rear bumper lines scream out for the more angular mk II skirts to carry that body line.
I like the rounder MK I style better, but you need the right bumpers to carry it.
My 2002 has the MK I and they just look out of place to me.

I thought they had self taping screws to hold on a metal strip.
If it can be easily reversed, they I’ll probably get them.
I’d go Mk2.
I prefer the Mk2 bumper and sideskirts, but the Mk1 wing.
The Mk1 taco wing is a real piece of art.
The Mk2 and later wings are probably more effective as wings.

Also the MK2 GT3 bumper has design cues that lead into the MK2 side skirts - MK2 get my vote to match the front bumper

I am totally OK with mixing MK1 and 2, however,...
If you have an MK2 front bumper....go with MK2 sideskirts. MK2 rear bumper I think works well with both MK1 Aero and MK2 areo equally. I think regular MK1 rear bumper doesn't work for me....too bland and jelly beanish….
BTW....I think your headlight covers look great....completely changes the look of the car. Not something I would do though when we had my whole car apart in the shop I was considering moving over to MK2 headlights to make room for the turbo exchangers but I do like the kidney bean headlights so we Dundon created custom brackets to make the original headlights work....I would have considered your approach if I had to use Mk2 headlights.
Bottom line, make your car your own...

Wow what forum are you in? That wing was introduced back in 1999 way before the Honda crowd...Best wing ever and looks good on the 996.2 Been thinking of getting a 996.2 rear bumper and adding it to my 996.1 with the rear flaps as well. The 996.2 real bumper just looks smoother than the 996.1

How many small styling cues sway our attraction to these fine motor vehicles?
Coming from a mk2'er I'm not much for Aero with it's different iterations though sometimes I kind of get "it".
Headlight covers work well at times, what's the harm?
Front spoilers...yeah.
Sideskirts....Mk2 only. Mk1's too roundish/awkward.
Tacos...well to each their own.
Euro rear bumpers with no bumperettes...mmmmm.
We make'm how we like'm and it's all good but I'm drawing a line
in the sand saying......NO SPATS.

OK, once I have the suspension done, I'll start thinking about picking up the side skirts.
I've had the coil overs for a couple of months now.
They came 2 days before my chemo treatments started.
I've been dying to install them, but I still get tired easily.
I ordered a few more suspension components today (adjustable drop links and adjustable rear toe arms) so maybe in the next month or so I'll have a new suspension installed.
