Finally got me a taco!
I picked up a used Mk1 Aerokit “Taco” wing and just got it back from the paint shop on Friday.
My car already had the Mk2 Aerokit front bumper that the previous owner had installed.
I really prefer the earlier Taco wing.

You make an interesting point. For my 09 997 C4S I would never consider doing any of this stuff to it (keep it stock to your point) because it would upset the lines of wide rear end and the big hips the 997 captures so well. For the 996, I feel it needs a little something and I can't imagine any of it without it. My car came new with Aero, which was why I fell in love with it. Frankly, the aero makes the car my favorite in the stable where otherwise it would be my lease favorite (though I still like it in is base form as shown below but not at the top of the list.) Lets at least agree to one thing....once you go down the Aero path, you do need to do the complete deal....otherwise it looks incomplete.

Taco wings are a piece of art and look great on the back of a narrow body 996 really adds character to the design, my opinion is in time they will be thought of the way the original 911 Ducktail is thought of. if anyone agrees I have a spare taco wing for sale on this Forum.

Yes it is seal grey.
I’ve been trying to decide about whether to add side skirts or not.
They're the cheapest part of the Aerokit at just $670 from Porsche.
But they are not easily reversible.
I thought the car might look funny without them, but I think it looks ok.
But it probably would look even better with them.
I know that the 996.2 didn’t come with Tacos, but I figured if people could get away with adding ducktails to newer 911s that a taco on a .2 might be accepted.
I got negative comments recently about the headlight covers from someone who said I “should have left it like Porsche made it.”
I changed the subject to Magnus Walkers and Singer and was told by the same person that he “love(s) what they do with aircooled Porsches. Magnus makes what Porsche should have done.”
But my 996 was “ugly with and without the covers.”
He said I should have bought a 991. meh...

Race Car
The side skirts are very easily reversible? Its all bolt on and some tape.
Not a fan of mixing and matching MK 1 and MK2 parts but your car does look good, props on making it your own too.
