In general, I'll just clean the wheels with wash shampoo. When they are very dirty AND I have time to spray wax them, I'll use P21S wheel cleaner.

The rewaxing is important...any wheel cleaner will remove the previous wax.

P21S wheel cleaner is an excellent product. I couldn't believe how effortlessly grim just washed away. Best wheel cleaner I've ever used.

Heat from the brakes will also cause the wax to break down quicker than it normaly would on the cars body. I like to use a synthetic polish like Klasse All In One for protection and additional heat resistance. Zaino works great too.

If you use a wheel cleaner or anything more aggresive than auto body shampoo you will need to reaply the wax treatment.
