Default 996 winter storage

Will winter storage damage the engine on my 996? It's my understanding, that 'garage queen' 996's have IMS bearing failures. I live in high country Colorado, it's not unusual for winter temp to drop down to -20 overnight. I'm really asking, if leaving the car garaged for three months will be a problem? I may be concerned with a problem that doesn't exist, as when I use 'search,' they refer to mice etc...

No. If properly maintained, prep'd, and stored. Three months is nothing.

Those temps are too cold for the IMS for a prolonged period. Best bet is to remove the IMS and store it inside for the winter.

As long as it’s stored properly, you will be fine. I might store it with a fresh oil change and fill up the tank and put some stabil in it. Don’t let any animals near it, and make sure you don’t have a humidity problem. Overfill the tires, and put a smart battery charger on it.

It's not unusual to have mice eat the wiring of cars left outdoors here in Colorado... A friend had his pickup totaled last year...

I store my CBR over the winter as you describe, other than, I remove the battery and trickle charge without a problem.
