Please help: Front Hard brake line misthreaded
When replacing the front passenger rubber brake line on my 1999 C2 996, I misthreaded the hard line bolt. The brake fluid is leaking.
I think the only solution would be to replace this hard-line (part# 99635517608) but I can't find a DYI for this job.
"Will-GTS" posted on Renn Rech that "In order to replace the front passenger's-side brake line , it is necessary to pull the gas tank."

Is it really necessary to pull the gas tank?
Your help will be appreciated!

I cant picture the exact fitting, but you may be able to cut it out, put a new fitting on, and flare the end. I made cusom hard lines for my rally car like this (ran all brake lines inside the car instead of underneath, and had a hydraulic ebrake).

I love this forum and would like to thank you guys for your answers!
Unfortunately, connecting brake lines with a compression fitting is illegal in California. As I was not ready to drop the fuel tank in my driveway, I was thinking following the slice advice.
Before, I tried to replace the rubber pipe by a new one. Luckily It worked as the hard line bolt was not damaged!

You should be able to cut the threaded nut off as close to the end as poss, just cut the flare off with a dremmel, then remove the threaded bolt, fit New bolt, re flare and away you go, should be enough in the hard line to allow this, flaring kits on eBay, get a hand held one designed to be used in situ!
