My radio has been replaced once already (around 4 months of ownership) but this time, upon starting up the car, it completely crapped out. NOTHING would work (AM, FM, CD, etc) except the radio always showed the word PORSCHE (must be new feature).
Turns out the amp gave out and needs to be replaced. Is this a common problem? Why do so many radio need to be replaced??
How many of you have had to replace your radio (once, twice)?? TIA
My car is a two month old Targa with the Bose system. The Becker CDR23 hooked into the Bose system has been replaced twice. Not a good track record, and certainly doesn't make a great impression on me as a first time Porsche owner. The only relief is the many messages I've read here of similar problems.
Have a problem with mine (CDR220) in that sometimes the display doesn't light up.
Open and close the face and it's fixed, but still annoying as it spits out the CD when you do this. Plan to have it replaced under warranty the next time I take it in.
