Insurance guy came out and took lots of pics and whatnot, the car does not have enough body damage to total it so the car is going to the repair facility for further inspection and a true estimate. Then it will be decided if it will get totaled or fixed. More updates to come hopefully next week.

Car is still in collision repair. 11.5 and counting. Insurance co is fighting replacing all four tires even though Porsche says that you should replace tires by axle. I think I finally have them on board. They have not investigated if there is suspension damage yet. They gave me a convertible mustang (not a bad little car) for the rental so I havent been pressing the shop to hard. Ill keep yall posted.

Default UPDATE: Finally got car back

Well, it took 4 months and a week to get the car back. It was a long wait but the car came back flawless and with new wheels and tires! Total was around 14k. I started the diminished value claim on Friday so we will see where the negotiation leads.

it would be interesting to see the itemized bill to see what needed to be done and replaced.

I'm glad you had a good outcome. I have the same type of damage (from the truck's lugs) but mine is considerably worse. If your repair bill was $14k, mine is likely to be totaled.

Glad OP is safe. Be careful out there all!
Same here, I new exactly what it was but my ex was screaming GO-GO-GO as if the world was going to end.

Latest update. I got a call from the insurance people yesterday asking me what I was looking to get for the DV claim. lols. I told them 15% of the value of the car (48k), so 7,200 and we can call it square. We will see how it goes with that.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a brand-new 911 get peeled open as if with a can opener the entire length of the drivers side.
It was on the shoulder of the Deegan near Yankee Stadium which is a lousy enough ride on a good day.
I didn't see what did it, though there was a Hyundai suv stopped a couple of lengths behind it.
Somebody's spirited commute from Wall St. to Westchester will have to wait a while.

Default Final Update!

Well its over. Its finally over...They offered me 4310.00 for the DMV claim, i had an appraisal done that came in around 6600 and we met in the middle at 5500. Looks like its time for the suspensions upgrades/refresh. Thanks to all for the help as always.
