No it does not....at least according to Excellence was Expected.

Further, the 3rd radiator proved unneeded in the C4S tip as well...owing to the rather enhanced airflow arising from the increased front inlets.

Thanks, I forgot to mention, I do have a Tip. Does that mean I have the third radiator? Thanks

Yes, as of MY 2002, all 996 Tip's and X51 6-speed's have the third radiator.

Third radiator is part of the X51 package and required with the tip, but I'm not sure about the 4S.

Viken - ensuing from Excellence was Expected Volume 3, pg 1398, first para, 2 sentence (referencing 2002 C4S)

"The bigger front cooling-air inlets were so effective that the 4S needed no center radiator to cope with the added heat load of the optional Tiptronic transmission".

Interesting! Porsche says all 2002-on M96.03 engines (includes C4S) get a 3rd radiator with the Tip and/or with the X51 option. Just shows you that you cannot trust too many people out there.

One exception (Gert and I have been trying to figure this one out).
A C4S with an X51 package DOES NOT get a third radiator.
From TSB 7/02 1001 Option X51 - Increased Engine Performance (dated 12-6-2002) (step 6 and also mentioned in the parts list as not needed for C4S).
6. Install additional radiators (subsequently referred to as coolers). Not For 911 Carrera 4S

I'd guess the same should apply for the 40yr car as well...
