NEW 996 OWNER!!
I recently purchased a 2001 996 Cabriolet (2 weeks ago), white with the blue top and interior, Tubi aftermarket exhaust
and I have to say I absolutely love it. Its an addiction if you ask me. To the 996 haters out there I just have to say, why? Because the headlights are different, or its water cooled? Cmon, you never even gave the car a shot. This car is awesome all around, great pick up from a stop, handling like no other, and a very respectable top end. Sure there could be an IMS bearing issue, but the cure is about $2500 if not already completed (this car had it done prior) and I am sorry to say if you are sweating over spending $2500 on peace of mind, you shouldn't own a Porsche! Ive owned several cars over the years, '91 Corvette Zr1, 70 Chevelle with a 350, 90 Thunderbird Super Coupe (this car was a blast because it was a sleeper) 76 Firebird Formula with a small block 400, 87 Mitsubishi Station Turbo, the list goes on and on but this is by far the best all around car of them all. I did own all these in my early 20s, and now I am soon to be 40 so maybe my tastes have changed.
Anyway I just wanted to say thank you because this forum has been awesome in helping me make an informed decision on a 996 and boy am I glad I didn't listen to the naysayers!.

Some interior pictures as requested. Overall really good shape for the year. I ordered a double din radio with nav along with the install kit. Should be here today and hoping to install it tomorrow, I will post back pics when done. If anyone has some advice on the install, I am all ears!!

Thanks Anestheticg!! That was the one thing the wife would not compromise on, she wanted a WHITE convertible and let me tell you, white must be rare seems like there were thousands of every color but white. We searched the whole country over the last year and finally found this one and it was in remarkably good condition!

Nice color combo, me likes! I’ll be going from a ‘99 black coupe to a ‘19 Cab S, racing yellow on black. I did see a 991.2 white and blue, it did get my attention.

That is a nice color and thanks for the pic with the wing up, I only see maybe an inch out the back window when it's up. (I know I can push the button)

Thank for all your kind comments guys!! To me, nothing looks better on a car than white but everyone has their own preference. It took years for me to find the right one (wife was particular) but I am happy I didn't settle!
TH964, I am fortunate to have a few toys laying around for those sunny days, boating and jet skis can bring a lot of smiles as well.
I am currently taking my dash apart in an attempt to install a new double din radio, wish me luck!
