It is a signal one of the monitored zones is open - center console, gas cap lid, front and rear trunks and so on, or something has changed since you locked it. Best place to start is the center console lid because it is known to get loose and create the beep. It doesn't beep when you lock it...right?

Hi.
No it doesn't beep when i lock it.
I tore down the center console during the winter and i dont remember any cables to the compartment.
Iv opend and closed al compartments to make sure but all of a sudden it beeps and then quiet for a while

I don't know. I would try disabling the interior infrared sensors when locking. Just lock it twice to disable and see if the beep comes back unlocking the car. An intermittent problem like this can be difficult to find the culprit. Any chance you have Durametric and can query the alarm system to check for faults?

I seem to recall a plug in for a sensor in the area by the oddments compartment latch release button. Don't quote me on that, but that's what I recall.

Hi
I think i have found the problem.
The little pin that locks the lid for the gas refill dont seem to work properly.
It do not seem to go out all the way and it feels like it misses the hole so to speak.
So it wont look.
The pin is loose in the chassi, is it supposed to be firmly mounted?

Yes, it should be firmly mounted. Unfortunately, I think the only way to get to it is to remove the wheel, and wheel liner, so you can get behind it.

Early on in my ownership when locking the car I heard what sounded like an angry bumblebee trapped behind the gas door. Never did a warning beep on locking or unlocking. Found the locking pin would throw out but not engage the cap bracket. I found the assembly just needed some "adjusting" from the outside and it has worked perfectly for the last 4 years! The part that actually comes out to engage the bracket on the cap will seem loose as it has to be free to allow it to move out and retract. Might want to do some hands on inspecting, locking and unlocking while watching mechanism.

^^Yes^^!!! And, you have to love when the part you need only costs a dollar and change Just remember, the shipping will be 5-10x that amount It is a great site though - the diagrams are almost priceless! Good luck
