Default Need to replace LCD screen

I have a 1999 Carrera 4 auto.

I was replacing the bulbs in the cluster and somehow broke 2 of the LCD screens (yay, another expense ...).

Looking around and on Ebay, I see I can buy the replacement screens, but the ebay seller states they are for mph cars not metric. I emailed then to ask about this as I thought it made no difference, but he replied that mph was standard on the screens.

I am confused as I thought you can flip back and forth so it should not matter.

Here is the link:

I need to be able to have the readout in metric. Any help is appreciated.

I could be wrong but I think the MPH/KPH output is controlled by the gauge cluster circuit board and the LCD screen just shows the output. Maybe the better question to ask is if the LCD screens are USA standard or ROW, but even then, my USA car will output either just by switching back and forth.

Hmm. What does USA standard and row mean? The guy said his screen a are USA standard. I didn't see anything obvious when I googled.

Cars manufactured for sale in the USA, and I believe Canada, are USA standard. ROW=rest of the world markets.
But like I said, my USA car can be set to show either MPH or KPH. I still think the LCD screen output is controlled by the cluster circuit board. I know that it is a big gamble at that cost for the LCD screens, but what else are you going to do? Guess next step is to find out about his return policy. How come he can't say if the screen will show KPH and MPH?

I am assuming he is not that familiar with the product.

I found these on Sacer, though at a MUCH cheaper price. Got all 3 screens for $18 each with the flat ribbon.

Installation may be tricky, so I may need an electronics repair shop to do it for me.
